Our community is small, but our American Red Cross Chapter (Ohio Hills Chapter serving Coshocton, Guernsey and Noble County) and its volunteers have Big Hearts
In 2009, our chapter and its volunteers responded to 68 residential and commercial fires, assisted 79 individuals and families with emergency food and/or shelter. Our chapter conducted 198 blood drives, collecting 5,442 units of blood from over 3,400 donors which included 767 first time donors.
We also trained over 2,100 individuals in health and safety classes, such as swimming lessons, and CPR, and those individuals are now trained and ready to save lives, help neighbors, and keep others safe. With our country at war, and many of our citizens in foreign countries, we assisted 89 military families with emergency communications and other inquiries and services.
