Ron Layton of RSVP has been chosen to be the volunteer of the month for January.  Ron joined RSVP in 2004 and as a veteran of the Air Force, has served as an Honor Guard since 2003.  A presentation with the help of Ron showed the seniors at the Senior Center the folding of the flag and what the 12 folds represent.  The solemn performance of "Taps" is played on the bugle by Ron.  Pat Schryock, volunteer coordinator for the Center said, "Ron has made sacrifices that have protected the freedom we cherish and enjoy.  Ron is very dependable and committed to his fellow veterans and the volunteer assignments he does."  Ron also visits shut-ins and talks with other veterans.  Ron and his wife Sharon have 2 daughters, one son and 5 grandchildren.
